GRINGO

GRINGO films GmbH is a feature film company based in Cologne, Germany. Our work is to develop and produce strong cinematic stories that appeal across borders.

GRINGO is led by Sonja Ewers and Steve Hudson. Sonja is a producer whose many years of experience range from Lebanon, which won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, to Happy Hour, which won the German Cinema New Talent Award at the Munich Film Festival, to the Pettson & Findus franchise. Sonja also produces for Wild Bunch Germany / Senator Film, where she is responsible for Children’s Films and Family Entertainment.

Steve’s experience extends from True North, which he wrote and directed, via the BBC mini-series Cranford, which he co-directed, to Bethlehem and The 90 Minute War, which he co-produced. He has also worked as a voice actor and voice director for many years, including on a wide range of animation films.

Stitch Head is GRINGO’s animation feature debut, and is due for completion in 2025.
